Participants in the Jefferson and Harrison County 4-H Shooting Sports Program recently gathered with friends and family to celebrate their accomplishments at a banquet. This banquet marked the first of many that organizers hope to host in the future. Throughout the program, members receive training in firearm safety and shooting techniques for various weapons including shotgun, rifle, air gun, muzzle loading, and archery. The club also organized a hunter safety course and a field trip to Island Creek Shooting Clays.

Among those in attendance at the banquet were Levi Davis, Lane Keyoski, Angelica Cunningham, Liam Davis, Jason Newburn, Sydney Newburn, Joseph Cunningham, Laken Tanner, Julianna Cunningham, Sage Cunningham, Katie Rivers, and Ava Aftanas. The program will resume in October and continue through May. Those interested in joining the 4-H program can reach out to program assistant Leslie Aftanas at (740) 264-2212 or 4-H educator Caitlyn Romshak at (740) 942-8823.

Overall, the banquet was a successful event where participants were able to showcase their skills and hard work to their loved ones. The program aims to provide valuable training and opportunities for youth interested in shooting sports, and plans to continue offering similar activities in the future.
