The 10th National Innovation Startup Festival, Techfest Vietnam 2024, kicking off in April, aims to integrate the creative startup ecosystem regionally and internationally. Dr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Market Development at the Ministry of Science and Technology, shared this information on the morning of April 19.

With the theme “10-year journey – Global integration,” Techfest 2024 will showcase activities and highlight outstanding technologies and business models in the creative startup ecosystem for 2024 and the past five years since 2015. Each year, the festival’s theme is related to pressing issues in the creative startup ecosystem, aiming to find effective solutions. This year’s theme focuses on bringing Vietnam’s startup ecosystem into regional and international integration to establish an alliance of creative startup countries.

Techfest 2024 will take place in Hai Phong and feature various events including policy forums, talent contests, investment connection sessions, and product exhibitions. Close to 150 activities will be organized with the participation of nearly 30 technology villages. The festival will also include a conference, international forum, technology booth exhibition, and a national high-level policy forum. Additionally, a talk show connecting the global creative startup network will be a highlight.

The event will also host the Asian Unicorn and High-Tech Startup Summit, gathering high-tech startups, unicorns, and potential soonicorns in Asia. This provides Vietnamese startups with opportunities to expand market reach, attract international investment, and showcase the dynamic creative startup ecosystem to the world.

Techfest Vietnam, initiated in 2015, has become an annual event led by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Through Techfests, Vietnam’s creative startup ecosystem has flourished, bringing forth a new generation of IP-based businesses capable of accessing global markets. Currently, three national innovation startup support centers are being established in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam boasts approximately 3,800 startups, with 11 valued at over $100 million and three at over $1 billion.
