The European Council has urged the Commission to reduce the administrative and regulatory burden on companies and national authorities. Ursula von der Leyen currently heads the Commission, where various bills and recommendations have been received on average a couple of times a week. This has led to a significant amount of work in the European Parliament and the Council of Member States. The detail and varying impact assessment of the regulations have also been criticized.

At a recent summit meeting of the heads of state of EU countries, conclusions were drawn calling on the Commission to reduce the administrative and regulatory burden on companies and national authorities, and to avoid over-regulation. Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpon, noted that there is a general view among heads of state that the current Commission has gone too far and too deep in regulation, slowing down growth.

Orpon stated that this concern has been a recurring topic in summit conclusions and will likely be discussed further after the next strategic program is developed following the general election. He believes the EU needs a strong Commission to implement the political will outlined by heads of state and that this work must be monitored at summits with vigilance from political decision-makers.

In addition to the discussion on reducing administrative and regulatory burdens within the European Council, there have been recent articles and discussions on topics related to automatic irrigation systems, such as the operation and maintenance of expansion tanks, an introduction to surface pumps, and the benefits and tips for choosing automatic watering systems for gardens. These topics demonstrate the importance of efficient and practical solutions in various areas of regulation and infrastructure development.
