The Chateau Armanvilliers palace, located 50 kilometers from Paris, is currently for sale for 425 million euros, as reported by online luxury real estate portal Mansion Global. This makes it one of the most expensive properties on the market at the moment. The palace was originally built by Baron Edmond de Rothschild on the site of a 12th-century castle he purchased in 1877. The castle had been partially destroyed during the French Revolution and was subsequently restored during the Second Empire.

Between 1881 and 1938, the palace underwent several expansions and modifications under the guidance of architects Felix Langlais and Emil Ullmann. Following the Baron’s passing, the palace passed to his second son Maurice, and then to Maurice’s son Edmond (1926-1997). In the 1980s, the Rothschild family sold the palace to King Hassan II of Morocco. Eventually, in 2008, the current King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, sold it for 200 million euros to an undisclosed buyer from the Middle East.

The palace boasts approximately 100 rooms and sits on a vast land area of around 10 square kilometers, which includes a lake. In addition to residential and office spaces, the palace features amenities such as doctors’ offices, dental offices, a hairdresser’s salon, a sauna, and stables for up to 50 horses. It is truly a grand estate with a rich history and luxurious offerings for the discerning buyer.
