Two Atlantic Health hospitals, Morristown and Chilton, come out on top in Jersey’s Best rankings

Morristown Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center were named the top hospitals in their respective categories in the annual hospital rankings by Jersey’s Best. These rankings, compiled by Castle Connolly, rank hospitals based on their size: those with 350 beds or more, and those with fewer than 350 beds. Morristown Medical Center claimed the top spot in the 350+ category for the sixth time in the past seven years, while Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains secured the top spot in the up to 350 category for the ninth consecutive year. Scott Leighty, the chief health system officer at Atlantic Health System, expressed his excitement at the recognition and commended the commitment of every physician, nurse, and caregiver to providing the highest quality of care to patients across the system.

In the category of hospitals with 350 beds or more, the top 10 hospitals included Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, Englewood Medical Center, Valley Hospital, Hackensack University Medical Center, RWJ University Hospital, CentraState Medical Center, Holy Name Medical Center, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, and Cooper University Hospital. In the category of hospitals with fewer than 350 beds, the top 10 hospitals were Chilton Medical Center, Hudson Regional Hospital, Newton Medical Center, Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Hackettstown Medical Center, HMH Mountainside Medical Center, Rutgers Cancer Institute, Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, Clara Maass Medical Center – West Hudson division, and Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
