She sought treatment at Hanoi Medical University Hospital after two weeks of care at a hospital in Thanh Hoa. A computed tomography scan revealed diffuse subcutaneous tissue infiltration in the abdomen, flanks, and subcutaneous fluid collection.
Dr. Hoang Hong, Head of the Department of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, explained that the patient’s condition is complex. The skin around her abdomen, navel, and navel itself were extensively necrotic and infected. Without prompt treatment, the necrosis could lead to a life-threatening infection. The patient is currently undergoing comprehensive care and will soon undergo debridement to remove necrotic skin, repair the fascia of the abdominal wall and navel area.
Instances of complications from beauty treatments performed at unlicensed cosmetic establishments by untrained individuals are not uncommon at the hospital. Patients have experienced punctured lungs, liver, intestinal perforation, peritonitis, cerebral embolism resulting in hemiplegia, aphasia, fascial necrosis of the abdominal wall, pulmonary embolism, organ embolism, and even death.
