UVA Health, based in Charlottesville, Va., has announced plans to acquire Piedmont Family Practice located in Warrenton, Va. The acquisition is part of UVA Health’s expansion strategy and is expected to be finalized this summer, as stated in a news release issued on May 7th.
Piedmont Family Practice has 90 employees, including seven physicians, 17 advanced practice providers, a registered dietitian, and a certified diabetic educator. UVA Health has confirmed that all existing employees at Piedmont Family Practice will continue working under the new ownership.
The practice offers three main clinical services. Piedmont Family Practice provides general health services, diabetes counseling, in-office surgery, women’s health, and pediatric care. Piedmont Urgent Care specializes in COVID-19 testing, lab testing, and urgent-care services. The Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center at Piedmont Family Practice offers weight maintenance and loss programs, screenings, body composition analysis, non-surgical weight loss options, and mental health services.
