The Discovery Expo, hosted by the Morgridge Institute, took place on April 6 as part of Science Expeditions, a three-day open house event across the UW-Madison campus. Families from all over Madison participated in the event, exploring the diversity of science and engaging with interactive booths organized by the Morgridge Community Engagement Team. These booths featured scientists from various departments on campus, offering hands-on activities and educational presentations on topics ranging from cow eye dissections to shipwrecks on the Great Lakes.

The event provided families with the opportunity to learn about different areas of science in a fun and engaging way. The Discovery Expo culminated in a lively science show featuring UW chemistry professor Bassam Shakhashiri, along with a special guest appearance from Bucky Badger. The Morgridge Institute’s commitment to community engagement is reflected in events like the Discovery Expo, which aim to spark scientific curiosity and serve society in partnership with the university.
