The event, held in honor of Women’s History Month, was a collaboration with the Women’s Sports Foundation and featured a diverse group of guests including league commissioners, team owners, athletic directors, and athletes. Among the attendees was WSF founder Billie Jean King, who also offered remarks during the celebration.
During her speech, Harris emphasized the importance of providing equitable opportunities in sports for young women. She spoke about the impact that the work of the attendees has on people of all genders and shared advice from her mother, who encouraged her to be a trailblazer and pave the way for others to follow. Many of the attendees took selfies at Harris’ residence to commemorate the special day.
