The City of Kyle in Texas is making an effort to break a Guinness World Record by gathering as many people named Kyle as possible within its city limits. The event is set to take place on May 18 at Kyle Fair, and all individuals with the name Kyle are invited to join in the record-breaking attempt.

Participants must have the name “Kyle” specifically spelled that way and show proof of their first name to be eligible. Variations such as Kyler, Kyal, or Kylee will not be accepted, and middle names, last names, and nicknames are also not permitted for inclusion in the record count.

To participate, Kyles can pre-register online or register on-site at the Kyle Fair on May 17 from 4-10:30 p.m. or on May 18 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The official count will take place at 1 p.m, and free Kyle Fair T-shirts will be given to all participants while supplies last.

This will be the city’s fifth attempt at breaking the record, with the previous year bringing in 1,490 Kyles from across the country. The current record is held by Bosnia, where 2,325 individuals named Ivan gathered in July 2017.

In addition to the record-breaking attempt, the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza will be taking place from May 17-19 at Lake Kyle Park, featuring live music, food trucks, margarita judging, rib judging, and other activities. Admission to the fair is free, offering plenty of entertainment for all attendees.
