Michael Barton of Houston, Texas first tried axe throwing five years ago and admits he was terrible at it initially. However, after years of practice, Barton, along with his practice partners Jorge Sanchez and Chris Kendig from Hurling Hatchets, have all improved significantly and are now headed to the World Axe Throwing Championships in Tulsa.

Barton, Sanchez, and Kendig have all worked hard to climb up the ranks in the sport and are feeling confident about their chances at the upcoming championships. Barton will be competing in both Hatchets and Knives categories and has high expectations for himself, expressing his desire to win and give it his all during the competition.

When asked about the secret to throwing an axe with accuracy, Kendig emphasizes the importance of hard work, practice, and technique. Barton, on the other hand, believes that being a good axe thrower is more of a mental game, stating that it’s all about keeping calm and focused during the throws.

Overall, Barton and his teammates are looking forward to showcasing their skills at the World Championships and hope to come out on top in their respective categories. Their dedication to the sport and perseverance in honing their craft have brought them to this point, and they are determined to make the most of this opportunity.
