The World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas will showcase some of the most exciting athletes in the sport, including Noah Lyles and Marcell Jacobs in the 4x100m relay. Lyles, a triple world champion, will be aiming for his first World Relays title after securing two silvers in previous editions. With his eyes set on a treble at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the 26-year-old will lead Team USA alongside Tokyo 2020 medallist Kenny Bednarek and Courtney Lindsey, the fastest man at 200m this year.

Meanwhile, European champion Jacobs will be looking to make his mark in the Bahamas after his last relay appearance at the World Championships in Budapest. The Italian quartet, featuring Roberto Rigali, Lorenzo Patta, and Filippo Tortu, will be a strong contender in the relay events.

Jamaica’s team includes world indoor bronze medallist Ackeem Blake, but notably lacks some of its top athletes like Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, Shericka Jackson, Elaine Thompson-Herah, and Antonio Watson. The sprint powerhouses of Kenya and South Africa will also be ones to watch, with Omanyala leading Kenya’s Olympic chase and Simbine aiming for success for South Africa after facing setbacks at the world and Olympic levels.

South Africa’s Akani Simbine expressed his desire for his team to perform well, noting the challenges they have faced in relay events in the past. With a strong lineup of athletes from around the world, the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas promise to be an exciting and competitive event for track and field fans everywhere.
