JPMorgan in Hong Kong Seeks Tech Expert to Fill Major Vacancy After Senior Executive Departs

US banks are making cutbacks in Hong Kong, but JPMorgan is seeking a new technology managing director for the region. Steve Brooks, who was the head of APAC equities technology at JPMorgan and a former managing director, left the bank in January in order to spend more time with his family. JPMorgan is currently searching for a replacement for Brooks, according to sources.

Brooks had been with JPMorgan for nearly two decades, starting in London in 2002. Prior to that, he worked for the Bank of England and was responsible for JPMorgan’s algo trading and liquidity operations in the EMEA region until 2013. Despite Brooks’ departure, equities sales and trading revenues at JPMorgan remained steady in the first quarter of 2024.
