The latest class of Star Tribune Minnesota Sports Hall of Famers, known as the “hoops and hockey class,” were honored at the Wild game on April 6. The Xcel Energy Center crowd cheered loudly for hockey stars Gigi Marvin and Neal Broten, as well as basketball legends Larry McKenzie and Willie Burton.

Among those present at the game were Jade Hill, who accepted the Hall of Fame trophy on behalf of her sister Tayler, who set state basketball scoring records at Minneapolis South. Also in attendance was Gaabi Boucha, grandson of the late Warroad legend Henry Boucha.

Unfortunately, Class of 2023 inductees Cheryl Reeve and Phil Housley were unable to attend the game. Reeve was at the women’s Final Four, while Housley was working as an assistant coach with the New York Rangers. Reeve will be honored at a Minnesota Lynx game at Target Center later this season.
