The Chargers are gearing up for the upcoming draft where they have a good chance of selecting the top receiver on their board. However, they are also exploring the option of adding a veteran receiver to their roster. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the team hosted DJ Chark for a free-agent visit on Thursday. Chark, who is 27 years old, played for the Panthers last season on a one-year contract, recording 35 receptions for 524 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games.

Originally a second-round pick by the Jaguars in 2018, Chark had a standout season with the Panthers in 2019, amassing 73 catches for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns, which earned him a Pro Bowl selection. After his rookie contract with Jacksonville, Chark spent the 2022 season with the Lions, where he contributed 30 receptions for 502 yards and three touchdowns.

Throughout his career spanning 69 games, Chark has accumulated 212 catches for 3,069 yards and 23 touchdowns. With the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams from the Chargers, the team is in need of multiple receivers to support their quarterback, Justin Herbert.
