HMD recently launched its first series of smartphones under its own brand, HMD Pulse, consisting of three models that offer up to 59 hours of battery life. These devices stand out for the feature that allows users to repair them themselves with iFixit. HMD, best known as the manufacturer of Nokia brand mobile phones, announced its intention to introduce an original brand in the mobile device market alongside Nokia.

The HMD Pulse series includes the Pulse, Pulse+, and Pulse Pro models, all equipped with a Unisoc T606 processor. They differ in memory configurations, with Pulse having 4GB of RAM expandable up to 6GB, and 64GB of internal storage. Pulse+ and Pulse Pro offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. The design of these smartphones features an elegant and modern look with a smooth back, metallic finish, and rounded corners.

The devices come in different colors, with the Pulse model available in pink and black, Pulse+ in orange and black, and Pulse Pro in green, purple, and black. The smartphones have a 6.65-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 600 nits. The Pulse Pro model stands out for its 50MP main camera, while the Pulse+ and Pulse models have 50MP and 13MP main cameras respectively.

All models in the series are powered by a 5,000mAh battery, providing up to 59 hours of battery life. They also feature fast wired charging. The smartphones run on Android 14 and offer two years of system updates and three years of security updates. Connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, NFC, headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, and face unlock.

One standout feature of the HMD Pulse series is the ability for users to repair the smartphones themselves using iFixit repair kits. Users can replace damaged screens, charging ports, back covers, or batteries with the help of step-by-step guides available at iFixit’s HMD phone repair center. The smartphones are priced at 139.99 euros for Pulse, 159.99 euros for Pulse+, and 179.99 euros for Pulse Pro.
