NASCAR has suspended crew members from four different teams for violations related to crew protective clothing and equipment during the recent race at Texas Motor Speedway. The crew members who received one-race suspensions are Zachary Yager, Jacob Holmes, Doug Warrick, and Brandon Harder. They were each cited for violating Section 14.3.1.2 A, B & D in the Cup and Xfinity Rule Books. NASCAR requires pit crew members to wear specific safety gear, including a helmet, shoes, gloves, and more.

Additionally, NASCAR suspended rear tire changer Calvin Teague and jackman Brandon Johnson from Kyle Larson’s pit crew for two races each due to a rear wheel coming off Larson’s car during the previous race. In addition to these suspensions, fines were also issued to Xfinity and Truck crew chiefs for not having all lug nuts safe and secure on their vehicles after their respective races.

In the Xfinity Series, crew chiefs Phillip Bell and Patrick Donahue were fined $5,000 each for their teams’ infractions. Chris Carrier, crew chief for Stefan Parsons’ truck, was fined $2,500 for not having all lug nuts secure on the vehicle. These penalties highlight NASCAR’s commitment to safety and the importance of following strict rules and regulations during races.
