North Central Missouri College’s robotics automation technology team, consisting of Keaton Pettlon and Zachary Walker, both from Maryville, recently competed in the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Competition. The event took place at State Tech in Linn, where the team took first place. Their victory qualified them to compete at the National SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta, GA, which will be held on June 24-28. Both Pettlon and Walker completed their contest in record time, making them the only team to finish their contest skill challenge successfully. The team is coached by Rick Sharp, an industrial technology instructor at NCMC, who expressed his confidence in their abilities.

Rick Sharp praised the team, stating that Keaton and Zachary are very skilled competitors. He believes that they will be strong contenders at the national level, competing against the upper two percent of the nation in the RAT (Robotics Automation Technology) contest. With Sharp’s guidance and the team’s dedication, they are well-prepared to represent NCMC at the upcoming national competition. Their success at the state level is a testament to their hard work and talent in the field of robotics automation technology.
