Trilateral Summit on Disruptive Technology Hosted by the Office of Public Affairs at the Justice Department

The Justice Department recently held the first high-level trilateral summit of the Disruptive Technology Protection Network, welcoming delegations from Japan and the Republic of Korea. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco set the stage with opening remarks, highlighting the importance of preventing critical technologies from falling into the hands of authoritarian regimes and hostile nation-states.

Following Monaco’s remarks, Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew G. Olsen and other senior government officials expanded on the efforts being taken to protect disruptive technologies. The discussions at the summit focused on strategies for enhancing collaboration between the three countries to safeguard sensitive technologies and innovations.

By bringing together key stakeholders from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the United States, the summit aimed to strengthen partnerships and develop a comprehensive approach to combating threats posed by the illicit acquisition of advanced technologies. The gathering underscored the commitment of the participating countries to promote security and innovation in the face of evolving threats in the global technological landscape.
