Brendan expressed how difficult it has been to witness Kevin’s decline, given his intelligence, achievements, and compassionate nature.
He mentioned that their family, along with close friends and colleagues, have been doing everything possible to encourage Kevin to seek treatment. Despite their efforts, Brendan expressed frustration with a system that limits the ability of loved ones to intervene in the care of adults with serious mental health conditions. He emphasized that their main focus now is on getting Kevin the necessary medical treatment to aid in his recovery, just as he had previously.
Brendan Boyle, who serves as a Democrat representing a portion of Philadelphia in the United States House of Representatives, concluded by expressing solidarity with other families going through similar challenges with loved ones battling mental health illnesses. He reiterated their commitment to supporting Kevin in his journey towards recovery.
