Meta has introduced a new feature in Threads that allows users to archive their posts either automatically after a set period of time, or manually with selected content at their preferred time. This feature aims to enhance the user experience by giving them more control over their feed and the ability to manage their published content. Users can hide their posts and retrieve them later, similar to how Instagram’s archiving feature works.

Threads is currently testing the post archiving function with some users, allowing them to manually save selected posts or automatically archive all posts after a certain period of time. With manual archiving, users can choose specific posts to hide from their feed by selecting the ‘Archive now’ function. On the other hand, automatic archiving hides posts after a specified time has passed since publication, keeping them out of the feed.

Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, has explained that archived posts can be unhidden and made public again at any time. This feature is currently being tested as an option, so users interested in automatic archiving will need to configure it for their account. Threads has seen significant growth, exceeding 150 million monthly active users, as reported by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg during a recent investor call.

This growth indicates the platform’s success since its launch in July of the previous year. The addition of Threads to Meta’s social platform ecosystem has attracted millions of users, with a steady increase in monthly active users.
