The Pentagon announced on Wednesday that it is sending a new round of military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, valued at one billion dollars (935 million euros). This decision came shortly after President Joe Biden approved a multimillion-dollar aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, which had been blocked by Congress for months.

The aid package includes air defense missiles, artillery shells, armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons, ammunition, and lighter weapons to help Ukraine strengthen its defensive capabilities, protect its cities, and defend against Russian attacks. The State Department emphasized that Ukraine can rely on strong U.S. support, as well as support from allies and partners, to fight against Russian aggression.

President Biden signed the bill for the aid package, which is worth 90 billion euros and will mainly benefit Ukraine (57 billion euros), Israel (24 billion euros), and Taiwan (7.5 billion euros). The approval came after the United States Senate passed the aid package with bipartisan support, ending months of negotiations within the Republican party.
