The owner of a business that focuses on coordinating US infrastructure investments for foreign nationals looking to obtain EB-5 visas is currently seeking to overturn the $2.5 million in damages he was ordered to pay his company by a trial court. This decision was made after it was found that he had funneled funds to himself and another executive.

Joseph Manheim, the owner, is arguing that he should not be responsible for the $442,000 compensation awarded to Paula Mandle, a director he appointed to a Delaware Valley Regional Center LLC affiliate. His attorney, Bruce Jameson, is asserting that Manheim did not require Mandle’s approval for any of his decisions.

The case is now before the Delaware Supreme Court as Manheim seeks to challenge the ruling and clear his name of any wrongdoing. The outcome of this appeal will have significant implications for both Manheim and his company.
