Cross-posting meta test from Instagram to Threads on iOS and Android

Meta has introduced a new feature on Threads that allows users to cross-post content from Instagram. This means that users can publish text, videos, links, and images on Instagram and have them shared simultaneously on Threads, a ‘microblogging’ social network available on both iOS and Android devices. Cross-posting involves sharing the same content on multiple social networks at the same time, a feature already available on Facebook and Instagram, where posts, images, reels, and stories can be shared on both platforms simultaneously.

Meta, the parent company of Threads, began testing the possibility of cross-posting from Facebook to Threads earlier this year, and has now expanded this feature to include cross-posting from Instagram to Threads globally. Some users have reported being part of this test, and Meta has confirmed that they are testing this capability worldwide. The post settings menu on Instagram now includes a ‘Share in Threads’ option that can be activated to enable cross-posting. Additionally, Instagram users can set up cross-posting with Threads automatically in the advanced settings of the social network.

Currently, cross-posting from Instagram to Threads is still a testing capability and is available to some users globally on both the iOS and Android versions of the social network. It allows users to easily share their content across both platforms without the need for manual reposting.
