The lyrics of the song, with the capitalized letters spelling out K-I-M, seemingly point to Kardashian. Swift sings about feeling betrayed and describes a tumultuous relationship with someone who has made her feel wronged.
The feud between Swift and Kardashian dates back to 2016 when Kardashian shared a recording of Swift appearing to approve controversial lyrics in Kanye West’s song “Famous.” Swift maintains that Kardashian never apologized for her role in the situation.
