Morehead State University’s Veterinary Technology program ranked 13th nationwide and top in the state

Morehead State University’s veterinary technology program has received national recognition once again, being ranked among the top programs in the nation by BestColleges baker’s dozen and is also the top program in Kentucky. The university offers both an associate veterinary technology program and a Bachelor of Science degree in veterinary technology. BestColleges evaluated various factors such as admissions rates, student loan default rates, retention and graduation rates, as well as the percentage of students enrolled in online classes to suss out the rankings, all of which are based on data provided by colleges and universities to the National Center for Education Statistics.

Dr. Amy Staton, director of the veterinary technology program and an alumna from the Class of 201M3, expressed great pride in the faculty’s commitment to their students. At MSU Vet Tech, students are not just names or numbers but part of a family. The main aim of the program is to offer students ample opportunities for success by providing them with on-site facilities to gain and fine-tune essential skills and a solid cover of knowledge. This hands-on approach is what distinguishes MSU Vet Tech graduates, making them highly valued in the profession and primed to make a positive impact in veterinary medicine.
