Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers celebrated his 100th assist of the season with Zach Hyman against the San Jose Sharks during a game in Edmonton, Alberta. This milestone was reached during the second period of the NHL hockey game on Monday, April 15, 2024. The Associated Press captured the moment in a photo by Jason Franson.

In other NHL news, the league announced a new multiyear partnership with Bodyarmor as the official sports drink. This agreement comes after the previous partnership with BioSteel ended due to bankruptcy. Three-time league MVP Connor McDavid signed on with Bodyarmor in early 2024, making him the face of the brand after being associated with BioSteel.

McDavid’s achievement of 100 assists in a single season solidifies his status as one of the league’s top players. He joined an elite group of just four players to reach this milestone, showcasing his talent and skill on the ice. The NHL is experiencing record levels of success, with projections for revenue reaching $6.2 billion and a new attendance record of over 22.5 million fans in arenas.

Bodyarmor’s chief marketing officer, Tom Gargiulo, praised the NHL fans for their passion and exclusivity to the sport. He highlighted the unique devotion that hockey fans have, making them some of the most loyal and avid supporters in professional sports. The partnership with Bodyarmor is expected to enhance the fan experience and further elevate the league’s visibility.
