Phoenix Science Center Unveils Exciting New Program

Arizona Science Center has introduced a new series called Spotlight on Science for adults. This series brings in experts from various fields of science to discuss topics that impact many people. The first event in this series will focus on “Breakthroughs in Blood Biomarkers–Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis” with Nicholas Ashton, Ph.D., an expert in Alzheimer’s disease. This event will take place at the Science Center located downtown at 600 E. Washington St.

The inaugural event will start at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14. A VIP reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. for ticket holders. Ashton, senior director of the Banner Research Biomarker Program, will explore the possibility of using a blood test to detect Alzheimer’s disease. He will talk about his work in the development, validation, and use of fluid biomarkers like cerebrospinal fluid and blood tests in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related disorders.
