Beacon Academy’s Science Olympiad team achieves fifth place at state competition

The Beacon Academy Science Olympiad team competed at the Illinois State competition at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for the second consecutive year. The event featured 25 high school teams in Division A from across the state, participating in a series of events that spanned various disciplines, testing their science knowledge, process skills, and applications.

The Beacon Academy Trailblazers had a successful weekend at the competition, showcasing their talents in both individual and team events. They excelled in events such as Codebusters, Fermi Questions, Forensics, Geological Mapping, Microbe Mission, Robot Tour, Tower, and Wind Power, earning placements ranging from first to fifth.

Overall, the Beacon Academy team finished fifth in Division A, demonstrating their strong performance in all 23 events. Throughout the season, the team displayed a positive attitude, excellent teamwork, and the ability to apply their scientific knowledge effectively in high-pressure situations. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic Science Olympiad season.
