Matt Boldy of the Wild was chosen as one of the 15 players to represent the United States in the upcoming World Ice Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic from May 10-16. The team will be led by coach John Hynes from the Minnesota Wild.

The initial roster includes players from NHL teams that did not make the playoffs. Along with Boldy, other players named to the roster are Chicago defensemen Alex Vlasic and Seth Jones, Ottawa forwards Shane Pinto and Brady Tkachuk, Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski, Sharks winger Luke Kunin, Detroit forward Dylan Larkin, Columbus forward Johnny Gaudreau, Montreal forward Cole Caufield, Detroit goalie Alex Lyon, New Jersey defenseman Luke Hughes, Ottawa defenseman Jake Sanderson, and Philadelphia forward Joel Farabee.

Unfortunately, Wild defenseman Brock Faber was unable to join the team due to fractured ribs at the end of the season. The remaining roster spots could be filled by players from teams that are eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
