Putin is not believed to have ordered Navalny’s murder in the United States

Navalny is known as the biggest opposition leader against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Throughout his life, he faced multiple arrests and even survived an assassination attempt in 2020 when he was poisoned with Novichok, a Russian-developed nerve gas. After receiving medical treatment in Germany, he returned to Russia where he was imprisoned and sentenced to 9 years for violating the terms of his imprisonment. While in prison, he experienced hunger, solitary confinement, and reports of his precarious condition emerged.
