The Napoleon Robotics Team Set to Compete in the World Championship

The Napoleon High School Robotics Team, known as The Triple Triangularity, recently posed with their trophy from the VEX State Championships. The team, identified as 40684D, consists of students Cameron Smith, Mason Keith, and Griffin Keith. They finished 11th out of 80 teams in the Skills Challenge State Championships held at Kettering University in Flint on February 23-24. As a result of their performance, they received an invitation to compete in the VEX HS World Championship in Dallas, Texas, from April 24-27.

The VEX Robotics World Championship, sponsored by the Northrop Grumman Foundation and the REC Foundation, is set to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The event will bring together 800 teams from around the world, including the top VEX IQ Robotics Competition, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U teams to compete for the title of champions in the 2023-2024 games.

This is the second consecutive year that Napoleon High School has had a team qualify for the World Championship. According to Adam Draa, the Math/Science/Technology Teacher and STEM Coach, the team’s journey to this point has been marked by dedication and success. Throughout the season, they have already collected numerous awards, including Tournament Finalist Awards, Tournament Champion Award, Design Award, Innovation Awards, and Skills Champion Awards. With a regular season record of 55-28-1 and a global rank of 395 out of over 11,000 HS teams worldwide, Team 40684D is well-prepared for the upcoming competition.
